ENTRY FORMALITIES:
All foreigners intending to visit Sikkim can avail of 15 15-day permits. Permits for FITS and groups for restricted areas i.e. Phodong, Gangtok, Rumtek, and Pemayangtse can be obtained 24 hours in advance from all Indian Missions abroad with requisite documents. 10 Day extension can be made at Gangtok.
ACCESSIBILITY:
By air: Bagdora is the nearest Airport 124 km from Gangtok. Indian Airlines & Jet Airways operates flights from New Delhi, Calcutta, and Gauhati. From Nepal either can be flown to Bhadrapur or Biratnagar and then drive 146 km to Gangtok.
By land: From Biratnagar 146 Km and Phuntsholing (Bhutan) 210km to Gantok.

Climate: (general) Days are normally warm. Nights can at times be very cool, and winter is even below freezing. Monsoon showers occur in summer (Heaviest in July and August), and sometimes even in spring and autumn. The most visited months are March, April, May, September October, and November. During these months you may expect mostly warm sunny days and cool/cold nights. Whereas rain or snow is not usual at these times, it is a possibility.

- You will stay in a three-star hotel and we assure you that you receive quality service throughout your stay. Single supplement will be served on request and will cost an additional USD 50.
- Please make sure you take travel insurance at home before arriving here. It is mandatory and you cannot take it in Nepal. Your insurance agent will know which insurance plan suits your travel.
- It is advisable that you free up a few days before and after your trip schedule. For reasons beyond our control like flight delays, accidents and natural hazards, the itinerary may have to be altered.
