Trip Overview

Namobuddha is situated at an elevation of 1750m. about 38 kilometers east of Kathmandu is a very important Buddhist Pilgrimage. The Stupa and shrines built on this lovely little hill mark a very ancient holy site which signifies the place where a legendary prince named Mahasattva offered himself to a starving Tigress with its several underfed cubs.

Drive from Kathmandu to the place called Dhapasi 35 kilometers east about one and a half hours. your hiking trail heads northeast and the trail becomes narrow as you move further. You cross over a suspension bridge and pass through many small villages with huge rice fields. The trail goes steeply uphill for about an hour until reaching Namobuddha. After making some detours around the area here, you will drive to Kathmandu via Dhulikhel which takes about one & half hours.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Day 01: Pick up at 7:30 am from hotel

Food: Breakfast Accommodation: Hotel After Breakfast, Pick up at 7:30 am, Our driver and guide will meet and start driving to Panauti,(33km) in -2 hours. Panauti village is an old Newari village with unique walking streets and old temples with traditional arts and architecture. Explore the main attraction, walk in local villages, and meet local people. After Panauti, you will hike head up towards Namobuddha, where you can see the famous "Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery", hike 4 hours from and back to Panauti, then Drive back to your Hotel in Kathmandu by 4:00 pm
