Trip Overview
The Royal Trek is one of the shortest treks that follow a shrub-like path along the foothills of Annapurna, north of the Pokhara valley. The Royal Trek is named because Prince Charles explored this route in the early 1800s. This trek provides opportunities for meaningful cultural experiences with the diverse mix of people and cultures that inhabit this region. Compared to other trekking areas in the Annapurna region, the Royal trekking route is less crowded, so you can get closer to nature, culture, and lifestyle.
The journey of the Royal trek begins in the beautiful lakeside city of Pokhara and passes through Vijayapur after one hour’s driving from Pokhara and ends at Begnas Taal. During the trek, we can enjoy stunning views of the eloquently built hillside rice terraces, the magnificent Annapurna range, Machapuchhre, and the Langtang Mountain views.
For those people who are retired or beginners for trekking to the Himalayas or those people who want to do a family trek, the route is the best option. It is also suited for those people who have a short period in the Himalayas. Even though the trek is short and low in altitude, you can experience the whole culture, tradition, and way of life in the Annapurna region as well as the views of the whole mountains in this region.
