Trip Overview
Mardi Himal trekking is located northwest of the capital of Kathmandu. It is one of the best Eco-tourism trekking destinations in the Annapurna region. Mardi Himal is the name given to the feature of the long rising ridge and its mountain that from the southwesterly lower slope of Mt: fishtail (“Machhapuchhare”-6993m), the famous triangular skyline that is seen from the whole area of Pokhara. Mardi Himal trekking is a less touristy trekking trail in the Annapurna region.
Mardi Himal is considered to be an ideal introduction to trekking in the high Himalayas, above all if you have limited time available. If you have no previous experience of high altitudes, is necessary as every safety measure will be taken to guarantee slow but sure and careful acclimatization during the trek to the mountain. The variety of Mardi Himal trekking is on the forest and wilderness region of these mountains. This trekking follows the least trodden trail away from the trekkers’ madding crowd with and fundamental nature of discovery. We ascend through villages, terraces, and pristine oak and rhododendron forest to an alpine campsite that affords close-up the spectacular scenery of sacred Mt. Machapuchare, Mardi Himal, and Annapurna. The great ice fields and the blue glaciers of the Annapurna sanctuary walls lie below us. We descend from the different routes to the warm valley and friendly villages on the bank of the Mardi River still away from the used trekking routes. This trek is designed to provide an outstanding mountain profile and to venture into the forests and villages that have not felt the impact of tourism. Mardi Himal trekking offers excellent views of Himalayan scenery including Mt. Dhaulagiri- 8167m, Mt. Annapurna I-8091m, Annapurna II -7937m, Annapurna III-7555m, Annapurna IV- 7525m, Annapurna south -7219m Hiunchuli – 6441m, Fishtail/Machhapuchhare- 6993m, etc.
