Trip Overview
This trek gives you a grand tour of the famous Khumbu Area. This is a strenuous trek leading to Gokyo Lake and over the Cho La Pass at 5368m leading into the Khumbu valley above Lobuche. The trail continues to Kalapattar and then back to Lukla via Thengboche and Namche Bazaar.
Trekking in the Everest area is a great experience, not only for its proximity to the world’s highest mountain but also for friendly Sherpa people, picturesque villages, a great variety of cultures and traditions, colorful festivals, and monasteries. The flora and fauna are other ornaments of the Sagarmatha National Park. The yeti story is still a mystery and the legend lives on in the Khumbu.
Unpleasant weather conditions, congested traffic in the Airport, unmanaged runway, topographical difficulties, etc. are the significant reasons for flight delays/cancellations in mountain airports such as Lukla, Jomsom, Simikot, Talcha, Juphal, Tumlingtar, Phaplu. So, if you intend on trekking to Everest, Dolpo, Annapurna, Kanchenjunga, Makalu, etc; arranging an additional one or two days in your trip is highly more suitable. This will help in case of flight delay/cancellation and thus board on the pre-planned international flight.
