Kanchenjunga is the third highest peak(8,586m) in the world, situated Eastern border of Sikkim, opened for trekking in 1988, and lies between Arun and Tamur rivers valleys rich with natural and cultural diversity. Your journey begins with a flight from Kathmandu to Biratnagar in the east of Nepal, followed by a drive to Basantapur (2220 m,) from where you head north to the villages of Chauki (2700 m), Gorja Gaon (2000 m), Amjilasa (2490 m), Ghunsa (3340 m), Khambachen (4040 m) and Lhonak (4790 m) to Pangpema( Base camp -5140 m.). This trekking offers an opportunity to explore unspoiled highlands wilderness to the visitors, flourishing farmland and forested valleys, charming villages, Monasteries, Temples, and magnificent sceneries. This region is inhabited by mixed ethnic communities like Rais, Chhetris, Brahmans, and Sherpas. wealth of wildlife, incredible ecosystems, Roaring rivers, and superb views peaks such as Kambachen (7903m), Jannu (7710m), Jongsong (7483m), Kabru (7,353m), Tent Peak (7365m) are other attractions in this region.
